Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP is an easy to install driver for your PC. It directly connects familiar OLAP applications like Microsoft Excel or SAP BusinessObjects Voyager to your Oracle OLAP database for powerful ad hoc query and analysis.
Connecting Microsoft Excel to Oracle Has Never Been Easier...
Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP allows you to use the powerful and popular ad hoc query and analysis capabilities of Microsoft Excel PivotTables® and PivotCharts® with your Oracle OLAP business intelligence data. PivotTables provide cross-tab functionality to comprehensively present your data in order to answer complex analytical questions. PivotCharts provide visual insight and reporting in a powerful, dashboard-like manner. Using Excel, you can slice, dice, pivot and gain meaningful insight from your Oracle data the same way that you would if you were connecting directly to Microsoft Analysis Services or SAP® NetWeaver® BW. Excel is also the ideal route for transferring data – even hot linked – to other Microsoft Office applications like Word and PowerPoint®.
Take Control of Your Heterogenous BI Tool Environment
Why force all users to migrate to a single BI tool? Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP is an open OLAP connectivity solution for many MDX query language emitting clients besides Excel, such as SAP BusinessObjects Voyager. Your users can continue to use the tools they are familiar with, while you retain your investment in their training and experience with those tools. No need to train users on yet another BI tool.
MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP supports Microsoft Excel 2010 (both 32-bit and 64-bit), Excel 2007, Excel 2003 and SAP BusinessObjects Voyager, with Oracle Database 11g OLAP Option Release 1 and 2.
Eliminate Confusing and Inconsistent Spreadmarts by Connecting Directly to Your Oracle Data Cube
Why use an expensive mid-tier server when you can connect directly to your Oracle data cube? Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP connects you directly with your Oracle database. Direct connectivity means that you don’t have to load your data into a mid-tier server when using Excel. It also means no more spreadmarts that obscure the truth.
In addition, Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP preserves all security policies set by your Oracle Database Administrator to ensure your data stays protected. Your Oracle OLAP data will also be accelerated by any Exadata hardware that you may have in place.
Save Time and Money with a Solution that’s Easy to Deploy, Low Cost and Requires No Training
Why use other spreadsheet tools and add-ins with different user paradigms when you can use Excel itself? Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP has low total cost of ownership. As a client-side driver, it’s easy to deploy, cost effective and low maintenance. No additional mid-tier servers or add-ins are needed. Furthermore, the solution requires no special training. If users are familiar with Microsoft Excel PivotTables, accessing Oracle data is the same as Excel connecting to any data source. No need to learn a new user interface.
Realize the Power of Your Oracle Database by Accessing Your Data Directly with a Tool You Already Have
Why use an expensive BI client when the cross-tab and dashboard power of Excel is excellent and growing? Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP allows you to use the world’s most popular and familiar multi-dimensional BI tool to directly access your Oracle data. MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP leverages Excel’s strengths for ad hoc query and analysis, as well as new Excel functionality based upon the latest advances in the multi-dimensional (MDX) data standard. Ad hoc query and analysis has never been easier, and connecting Microsoft Excel to Oracle has never been simpler.
Oracle users can make use of the very latest Excel 2010 PivotTables functionality to access and analyze their data – including slicers, drill-through and very advanced formatting and presentation options – as well as gain integration with other Microsoft Office products.
How It Works
Simba’s MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP is a client-side driver that
natively connects Microsoft Excel and other OLAP-based client
applications with Oracle Database 11g OLAP Option. It works seamlessly
to parse and process multi-dimensional queries from BI tools and
integrate with Oracle OLAP via SQL/ODBC, while preserving all Oracle
Database security policies in place. (see diagram)
